How to upload & analyze Files

Veltoria reads PDFs, images, spreadsheets, code, and documents. Drop them into the chat and ask questions. Available on all tiers (with size limits).

What you can upload

  • PDFs — contracts, research papers, reports, anything text-based.
  • Images — JPEG, PNG, WebP. Charts, screenshots, diagrams, photos. Veltoria can read text in images and describe what it sees.
  • Spreadsheets — XLSX, CSV. Veltoria can analyze data, summarize trends, generate insights.
  • Documents — DOCX, plain text, Markdown.
  • Code — JavaScript, Python, TypeScript, etc. Veltoria can read and review.
  • JSON / XML — structured data files.

Limits

  • Up to 5 files per message
  • 20MB per file
  • 50MB per batch (across all files in one message)
  • Files persist as long as the conversation does — you can reference them in later turns of the same chat without re-uploading.

How to upload

  1. In the chat input, click the paperclip icon (left of the text box).
  2. Pick the file from your computer (or drag-and-drop into the chat).
  3. Wait for the upload to complete (fast for small files; PDFs over 5MB may take a few seconds).
  4. Type your question. Reference the file by name if you want — e.g., "Summarize the methodology section of paper.pdf."

Good ways to use file uploads

  • Contract review — upload a PDF, ask "What clauses should I be careful about?"
  • Spreadsheet analysis — "What's the top 5 customers by revenue this quarter?"
  • Image-based Q&A — upload a screenshot of an error message, ask "What's wrong here and how do I fix it?"
  • Cross-document compare — upload two contracts, ask "What's different between these two?"
  • Code review — upload a code file, ask for issues / improvements.

What's safe

Files you upload are encrypted in transit and at rest. They are NOT used to train any AI model. They're stored as long as the conversation exists, and deleted when you delete the conversation. We auto-delete files older than 90 days from inactive conversations.

Don't upload anything you wouldn't want stored on Azure (regulated PII, etc.) — see our Privacy Policy for the full data handling story.

Things that won't work

  • Files over 20MB — split or compress first.
  • Encrypted PDFs — Veltoria can't read password-protected files. Decrypt before upload.
  • Heavy video / audio — not supported in v1. (Voice support is on the roadmap.)
  • Executable binaries (.exe, .dmg, .app) — blocked for security.

Question not answered?

The docs are growing. If you can't find what you need, email support — we use those questions to prioritize what to write next.
